Deep tissue Massage

Massage is an instinctive and basic need of all life forms.

When we hurt ourselves the first thing we do is rub the area that hurts to alleviate the pain. When we want to bond with another human or animal, we touch or stroke.

Massage help us to relax and to reconnect with the body’s own desire to be in the moment rather than worrying about experiences from the past or feeling anxious about the future.

A deep tissue massage involves your therapist working more deeply into the muscles than a regular massage. There is more emphasis on altering structure and muscle restrictions, the alleviation of pain and increased relaxation. The effects of a deep tissue massage can be longer lasting than with a regular massage.

The strokes used are deep and slow, so as to move the muscle and stretch it along the fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). This massage relieves tension & pain, release adhesions and lengthens muscles.  The elimination of pain brings about better posture, more flexibility and fluid movement.
