Post natal rehabilitation massage

Many women are unaware of how vital postnatal therapy is to recovery after having a baby, whatever the method of your delivery.
At LMS Therapy we are passionate about optimising postnatal recovery after childbirth. As a result, our massage therapists are skilled in postnatal rehabilitation and supportive recovery. They possess the soft tissue skills, knowledge and techniques required to address soft tissue problems which may arise after Caesarean section or vaginal delivery.
Our therapists are also able to work with the natural breath, which can be useful in ‘re-setting the core’, improving alignment and restoring the stomach soft tissue to help encourage healing and core activation. This can assist in improving the appearance and function of the abdominal soft tissues.
Why have a post natal massage?
restores postural balance
helps with improving breathing capacity
helps to reduce muscle pain
Helps reduce diastase recti (separation of stomach muscles)
The diaphragm and pelvic floor work together. After pregnancy constriction of the diaphragm, this process doesn't always work as well
Is treatment suitable for me?
We recommend that you have at least had your 6 week check and have been discharged prior to engaging in any treatment. Although 12 weeks post birth is an ideal time to start as after birth your body is still delicate and adjusting to being a new mother is a special time for you.
If you have delivered by caesarean section no scar work can take place at 6 weeks you can receive other treatments though avoiding the stomach area.
